Tammy Leuer is the newest addition to the Maverick volleyball program as the
first assistant.
"Tammy was one of the first people I recruited at MSU, and although she did
not choose to come here initially, I am extremely happy that we got her on
the second time around. With her credentials from her playing career at
Tulsa, it is obvious that she will bring many intangibles that will put us
in a position to be successful here at Minnesota State," said Tully.
Leuer comes to Minnesota State after a standout playing career as an outside
hitter at the University of Tulsa. While with the NCAA Division I Golden
Hurricanes, Leuer was a starter for three seasons and also earned four
letters. A 2003 graduate of Tulsa, Leuer earned Academic All-Western
Athletic Conference in all four of her seasons, and served as a captain for
the Golden Hurricanes during her senior season.
A native of Corcoran, Minn., Leuer graduated from Wayzata High School in
1999, and left the school as the career record holder with 691 kills. In
both her junior and senior seasons, Leuer earned all-conference and
all-metro recognition, and was an all-state honorable mention pick in 1998. |
