MAKING A CONTRACT FOR GRADE: You will make a contract for the grade which you wish to earn in the course. To earn that grade, you must satisfactorily complete all of the requirements listed below. If you don't complete all of the contracted work, I will use my discretion in assigning a course grade.  If you satisfactorily complete all of the contracted work, you will earn the grade for which you have contracted.

 

RE‑NEGOTIATION OF CONTRACT: You have the option to re-negotiate your contract for a grade different from the one which you originally chose.  Should extenuating circumstances arise that influence your ability to complete the course work for which you have made a contract, contact me at once to discuss the situation. 

 

 

CONTRACT INFORMATION: Please note that this online course requires daily log-ins and frequent discussion comments throughout the two weeks.  July 4 (holiday) and Saturday/Sunday (weekend) are exempt from this daily requirement, although you certainly may make discussion contributions then.  Listed below are the contract requirements for the course:

 

GRADE OF A:

1. Attend and participate.   Requirements: be online at least twice per weekday to read posts, send and respond to discussion comments, and complete assigned work.

2. Complete all required online readings, films, chatroom, and discussion contributions.

3. Contribute a minimum of eight (8) analytical and interpretative comments (of 200-250 words each) per week to selected discussion forums.   In addition, contribute at least three (3) short (100-word) responses to classmates' discussion comments per week.

4.  Submit self-assessment  and course evaluation on our D2L site no later than 5 p.m. CDT on July 27, 2008.
 

GRADE OF B:

1. Attend and participate.   Requirements: be online at least twice per weekday to read posts, send and respond to discussion comments, and complete assigned work.

2.  Complete all required online readings, films, chatroom, and discussion contributions.

3.  Contribute a minimum of five (5) analytical and interpretative comments (of 200-250 words) per week to selected discussion forums.  In addition, contribute at least three (3) shorter (100-word) responses to classmates' discussion comments per week.

4.  Submit self-assessment and course evaluation on our D2l site no later than 5 p.m. CDT on July 27, 2008.
 

GRADE OF C (or Pass):

1. Attend and participate.   Requirements: be online at least once per weekday to read posts, send and respond to discussion comments, and complete assigned work.

2. Complete all required online readings, films, chatroom, and discussion contributions.

3.  Contribute a minimum of three (3) analytical and interpretative comment (of 200-250 words each) per week to a elected discussion forum.   In addition, contribute at least three (3) short (100-word) responses to classmates' discussion comments per week.

4.  Submit self-assessment and course evaluation on our D2L site no later than 5 p.m. CDT  on July 27, 2008.
