Lifewriting Annual Editorial Board Invitation:
12 September 2005
Dear Professor Bunkers:
I would like to invite you to become a member of the Editorial Board of
Lifewriting Annual, a new scholarly annual started this past spring by AMS
Press. The Annual will publish scholarly and critical articles on all the
genres of lifewriting -- biography, autobiography, memoir, journal,
diaries, and letters -- as well as reviews of works in those genres. A
section called “Crossings” will be devoted to pieces blending aspects of
biography and autobiography. I am currently completing the editing of the
first volume, which will be published before the end of this year.
Your distinguished career as a scholar of biography would make you a
valuable member of the Board. The responsibilities of the position are
simply to be available to read submitted manuscripts when asked and to be
consulted by me as needed. Your name would appear on the title page of each
volume as a member of the Editorial Board.
Attached is the Table of Contents for the 2005 volume. The number and
quality of submissions for this first volume was encouraging. Several of
those submissions are being revised for reconsideration for the 2006
volume. Please let me know if you have trouble opening the attachment.
If you have any questions about Lifewriting Annual or its Editorial Board,
please contact me at any of the addresses above.
Thank you very much for considering this invitation, and I hope you will
join the Board. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Smith, Editor
