At the
end of the two-week module, I asked each participant in "Survivors' Stories"
to respond to the following questions, several of which ask individuals to
assess the course and others of which ask individuals to assess their work in
the course. Responses will soon be posted on pages linked to each
participant's reflections essay page.
Below are the questions I posed:
Generally speaking, would you
say that the content of this course was aimed at 1) too difficult a level, 2)
about the right level, or 3) too easy a level for you? Why?
Generally

1) too difficult, 2) about right, 3) too easy to use? Please explain why.
Based on your work to date,
would you say that the amount of course content (memoirs, scholarly articles,
films, discussion posts) was 1) too much 2) about right 3) too little for the
period from July 6-16, 2004?
Please assess your level of (dis)comfort
with the idea of making a contract for grade in this course:
1) I'm comfortable with the
idea
2) I have no opinion
3) I'm not comfortable with
the idea
Now, please explain the
reason(s) for your answer above.

successfully have you completed the course work required for your contracted
grade?
How
much time per day would you estimate that you have spent online, reading
course assignments and posting to discussion forums? ____ hours per day
If you were grading yourself
on the quality of your work in this course, would you assess it as 1) high 2)
average 3) low quality work? Why?
Please use the space below to
write a brief rationale for the grade that you believe you have earned in this
course.
What
suggestions/recommendations do you have for me as I continue to develop this
distance-education course for next summer and for a full semester? I'd
appreciate knowing what you thought worked well, what you thought didn't work
well, what materials you would recommend be included again (or not included
again), etc.
Many thanks!
